Sertrans Logistics tries to minimize negative impacts of its logistic activities on the environment, and carries out all logistic activities to give the least harm to the environment.

  • Sertrans Logistics measures its carbon footprint and creates projects to reduce emission of carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas resulting in global warming.
  • It concentrates on multi transportation models, namely multimodal transportation, rather than using highways.
  • In 2012, it reduced use of highways by 38% compared to the previous year, concentrated on Ro-Ro use, and not only saved fuel, but also prevented a forest of 10,000 trees, by reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
  • It replaced its entire vehicle fleet used for obligatory highway transportation activities, with the vehicles in Euro/5 and Euro/6 norms, in accordance with EU’s CO2 emission standards.
  • All vehicles in the fleet are regularly subjected to sound and exhaust emission tests by the authorized representatives of the manufacturers.
  • In all vehicles, synthetic urea solution that transforms the harmful gases such as nitrogen oxide into steam and harmless nitrogen is used.
  • Materials used in exterior and interior cleaning of the vehicles are environment-friendly.
  • Water used in the exterior cleaning of all vehicles are stores in a separate tank without being mixed into the soil, and are discharged into the waste water tanks assigned by the Municipality and ISKI authorities.
  • In the framework of Sertrans Logistic’s cooperation with LAS-DER, tires used in the vehicles and expired their useful time are recycled, and thus, recovered, without polluting the nature. In this scope, total tires we provided to LAS-DER for recycling between 2011 and 2013 is 12,280 kg.
